Baked Goods for Soldiers

I was on one of my favorite baking webites on my lunch break, and was browsing around when I stumbled upon this BAKED GOODS FOR SOLDIERS idea.

If you know someone in troops abroad, or know someone who does, forward them this link or have them visit my blog. It gives you a few recipes good to send via mail, and the best ways to get those baked goods overseas.

Helping the Military Troops Stationed Abroad
Sending cookies and brownies across the miles to our military troops stationed abroad is a special way to share the goodness and love of a home-baked treat with those far away. Many concerned groups and individuals across the country have expressed interest in sending baked goods to the U.S. troops in the Middle East. In response, the Toll House Test Kitchen has modified favorite TOLL HOUSE® recipes to withstand the desert heat and to meet the restrictions of the Middle East countries.

There are a few recipes and guidlines. Please check them out. You could be brightening someone's day.

Lazy Weekend Concoctions

Hey Friends,

I decided I am going to start a weekly weekend recipe. It'll be something easy, yummy and fun to do on weekends! I am going to call it Lazy Weekend Concoctions!

This weekend's Lazy Weekend Concoctions:

~~CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER DREAM COOKIES~~

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® SWIRLED™ Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter Morsels, divided

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 325° F. COMBINE flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup morsels and peanuts. Drop by well-rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Press down slightly. Top with remaining morsels. BAKE for 11 to 13 minutes or until cookies are puffed and centers are set. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Remember to follow baking instructions before consuming.
